India's top car maker, Maruti Udyog Ltd, said on Thursday it raised prices across models by up to Rs 1,017 ($23), following a 1 per cent additional tax imposed by the government.

The higher prices -- ranging from Rs 258 to Rs 1,017 across models - are effective March 15, Maruti, a unit of Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp, said.
